Hey BurnJammers , I was thinking of having a contest for the best BurnJam song. The contest will be set up as a poll  in this catagory of the Forum. I was thinking on giving away a Guitar Hero package for either PS3 or Xbox 360. There will be a 5 dollar entry fee per track to cover the cost of the of the Guitar Hero game and the shipping. I am thinking maybe we can have everyone enter until we get enough people (I'm thinking 20 or more) and once all entries are final, the entrants will pay the 5 dollar fee and voting can begin. If anyone else has a way to structure this or would like to add some ideas feel free to send me a message with your thoughts.

Take Care For Now,

Don

Contact Eric at Alpha Music (drums@alpha-music.com).  He carries Pearl and is a good guy.  A Ref drum is going to be very pricey. You can also consider eBay.....

I guess selling yourself or your band is MUCH easier in person!

You can always hire a PR Guy or Gal or if like most, your broke.... Get friends to help? Wink

Wow.....booking....what a nessesary evil!

Seems like we could do somthing here to help, but I need to put my thinking cap on a bit longer. Technology and the web should be able to automate this process and make it easier?

Nah, I think this is one instance where nothing takes the place of face time.  It's called legwork for a reason and if it were easy, everyone'd do it.

I hate slogging through the process of booking, but nothing can take the place of actually walking into a club and checking it out firsthand.  And talking to the booking manager in person lets you both size each other up and gives you a much clearer picture of the situation than any online alternative could.  At least the first time.  After you're a known quantity, the Web and phone calls should be easy for musicians and booking managers.
