Biography

In the Autumn of 2004 Johnny Roxxy (bass) and Julia (singer) wrote the foundations to the songs which lead to the formation of the band Glitzy Glow. That same year Johnny and Julia ran into Australian guitarist Geoff Lawrence, performing at a mutual friend’s party and it wasn’t long before Glitzy Glow had claimed its third member. A short time later drummer Daniel Jackzin from Johnny’s earlier days with Glam Rock bands Plastic Dolls and Angelina Diamonds, was enlisted.

At the height of their musical career Angelina Diamonds contributed with Ought To Be A Law to the American hardrock band Firehouse’s tribute CD - Don’t Tribute Bad: The Songs Of Firehouse. Guitarist Mike Rose and now deceased singer Peter Schimes were outstanding in these sessions.

Johnny Roxxy, bassist in Angelina Diamonds and Plastic Dolls now traded four strings for six and gave Glitzy Glow its unique sense of self. This meant a bassist became in high demand and after shaking down local talent Dennis Keller, the man behind Glitzy’s logo, and Carl Thunberg who after laying down bass tracks for both single’s tracks opted for another career path, Johnny himself took back bass honours and shaped the band’s final line-up.

Band members have been working hard with the final touches on the 13 songs which form the backbone to the anticipated upcoming Glitzy Glow album and tour, scheduled for early 2008. Enthusiasm for the long awaited CD, tour and the rewards of 2 years of hard work is enormous and holds great confidence for the future... a future of light, a glow, a Glitzy Glow.

Don’t even try to look away!
